Registo de língua e formas de tratamento na tradução jurídica

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem como objeto de estudo o registo de língua e as formas de tratamento, que são utilizadas no domínio jurídico, de maneira a perceber como funciona e que princípios seguir, no momento de traduzir. A principal finalidade é especificar as diferenças de registo e das formas de tratamento pronominal e nominal entre a língua inglesa e a portuguesa, no contexto jurídico, com a finalidade de orientar a tradução de documentos advindos das várias instâncias. Para tal, utilizou-se documentação autêntica, proveniente dos diversos tribunais, nomeadamente acórdãos e sentenças, e fez-se o levantamento das formas nominais e pronominais para posterior contextualização e estudo.

The objective of this dissertation is to study register and the forms of address that are used in the legal field, so as to understand how they work and which principles to follow when translating. The main purpose is to specify the differences in register and in the pronominal and nominal forms of address between English and Portuguese, in the judicial context, with the objective of orienting the translation of documents from the various law courts. Authentic documentation from the different courts was used, namely rulings and judgments, with the aim of selecting the forms of address used, to analyse and contextualize them.
