The present study explores, through semistructured interviews, intergenerational family relations, with a specific focus on grandparents’ role , bicultural identity and well-being of 24 second generation adolescents living in Italy. Results of qualitative analysis show a conceptual model that groups participants into four different clus- ters (named “citizens”, “inhabitants”, “stateless”, “lost”), showing the importance of transmission of migration history and family’s culture of origin for an integrated bicultural identity, and individual well-being, from both psychological and sociocultural point of view.
