The article examines an essay of the Canadian philosopher and theologian Bernard Lonergan: The Ongoing Genesis of Methods, dedicated, coherently with his other works, to the analysis of the foundations and the development of the conscience and the human knowledge. The purpose of this article is to show the contribution of Lonergan's reflection on the themes of education, of learning and teaching. Through Lonergan's essay, together with his writings, give us a very rich and articulated vision of human learning, as an open process, structured, anthropologically based, generative, ambivalent, empowering.

Abstract
