Tito Quinzio Cincinnato Capitolino e la sua grande vittoria nel 380 a. C.

The paper analyzes the victory of Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus Capitolinus against Praeneste in 380 BC and the importance that this event may have had in the history of the gens Quinctia. Particular attention is paid to the possibility that Cincinna- tus Capitolinus has dedicated in the Capitolium a golden crown and/or the statue of Jupiter Imperator after the conquest of Praeneste. This gesture may have influ- enced the dedication of another statue of Jupiter Imperator done by Titus Quinctius Flamininus two centuries later in the Capitolium, as well as the dedication of an object in Praeneste done by his brother Lucius Quinctius Flamininus. The paper also highlights some possible influences that some actions of Titus Quinctius Cincinnatus Capitolinus in 380 BC may have had on the story of Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus’ victory in 458 BC
