Abstract
A significant percentage of cardiac arrest victims can be saved by prompt initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The author advocates that physicians be required, and the public encouraged, to take CPR training. He believes concern over legal liability is unwarranted if CPR is performed in good faith and in a reasonable manner, and that legal immunity provisions may be counterproductive. (KIE abstract)
