Abstract
Patients with multiple sclerosis frequently encounter frustrating difficulties in learning what is wrong with them. A survey of physicians at the Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine revealed that, while nearly all of the physicians agreed that patients should be told the diagnosis, they tended to delay in acting on this belief for fear that the resulting emotional stress would aggravate the disease symptoms.
