Mineralogical aspects of soil compaction a study on Chernozems

Abstract

Soil compaction is a form of land degradation caused by the intensive use of farm machinery in agricultural production. The forces from high axial load during applied onto soil surface and alters all of soil properties: physical, chemical and biological. The adverse effects of soil compaction are decrease soil productivity and crop performance which resulted in reduced crop yield
