The data sheets presented here contain benchmark data for population estimates and projections(Part A)as well as related demographic and socio-economic indicators (Part B) for each of the 50 ECA member states as derived from all existing available Sources.The gaps in most cases testify to the shortage of accurate statistical and demographic data in these countries and accordingly call for a need for the governments to include as a priority area in their development plans the collection and analysis of demographic and selected socio-economic data needed for planning.
