Resumen/Abstract
El rápido crecimiento de personas mayores aumenta las demandas económicas y sociales del país. Por ello, debemos fomentar un envejecimiento activo, permitiendo a las personas desarrollar hábitos de vida saludable, físicos y mentales de forma segura y participativa. Es importante adoptar nuevas conductas, que permitan sobrellevar esta etapa de la mejor manera posible.
La intervención comunitaria garantiza una mejor calidad de vida y consigue una longevidad satisfactoria. Por eso, atención primaria, es el mejor ámbito para desarrollar programas que impulsen el desarrollo de sus capacidades, teniendo en cuenta sus características personales. Algunos aspectos modificables que permiten alcanzar un envejecimiento activo son; la actividad física, cognitiva y la nutrición. Se deben promover intervenciones dirigidas hacia estos ámbitos, para conseguir que los ancianos, disfruten de una mayor independencia y autonomía durante el mayor tiempo posible. Los enfermeros juegan un papel importante en este aspecto, por eso deben disponer de conocimientos, estrategias y habilidades para concienciar a la sociedad de los beneficios que ofrecen la adquisición de estilos de vida saludable.
The steadily growth of aging people increases the economical and social demands of the country. That´s why we must promote the active aging allowing people to develop healthy life habits, not only physical but also mental in a safe and participative way. It is important to adopt new behaviours which let us to ease this phase as good as possible.
The community supervision guarantees a better life quality and achieves a satisfactory longevity. For this reason, primary health service is the best context to develop programs that stimulate the development of their abilities taking into account their own features. Some changeable aspects which lead them to reach an active aging are physical activity, cognitive and nutrition. We must promote interventions aimed to these fields to make older people be more independent and enjoy a better another as long as possible. Nurses play an important part in this aspect, that´s why they must know the strategies and abilities need to raise the conscience of the society about the benefits that having a healthy life style may offer.
