ABSTRACT: Through this Master's Thesis, a Marketing Plan for the Cantabria destination is designed for the German market, with the aim of better understanding this market, consolidating the 'Cantabria Infinita' brand, and attracting more German tourists.
Currently, these represent 13.9% of all foreign tourists arriving in Cantabria, characterized as a demanding client seeking the authenticity of the experience and making a type of holiday trip related to rest and sun and beach holidays, family trips, nature trips, and finally experiential trips.
The current situation of Cantabria is studied, seeing what positive aspects it has in favor and which are against for the German tourist, based on an analysis of the resources and capacities.
Cantabria is undoubtedly one of the most diverse regions of Spain that has different landscapes, cuisine, sea and mountain, as well as different tourist resources at the height of this demanding German tourist. However, the same offer and positioning in the German market is not required as in other regions and countries. Thus, this work develops a marketing plan that, supported by an appropriate strategic formulation, proposes a series of actions adapted to the German market.
