ABSTRACT: This research- Historical Heritage dissemination of the Cultural Park Monte Buciero in Santoña –has carried out a theoretical reflection on the importance of the dissemination for the socio-educational aspects of Heritage, a complex issue for many aspects, factors, agents, etc., which are involved in it.
Based on a review of the literature such as previous research which shows that the use of heritage resources in schools is much lower than the expected and by interviews made to a kindergarten teacher, a professor in the Department of Social sciences, Geography and History at a secondary school and a PhD in History from the University of Cantabria, all of them from Santoña, I have concluded that there is still much to do in the field of dissemination to make our heritage become a useful resource at the service of education.
But also, having found that formal education is not taking the opportunity to use Heritage at schools and have not used dissemination strategies for this purpose, we have tried to place special emphasis on a detailed design of didactical proposal such as the Teacher´s book and Student book for a “Route through the Cultural Park Monte Buciero”.
