Oscar Wilde's quote reflects my personal belief of always
keeping a journal while traveling, and it summarizes the style in
which I have written my S.I.P. Though I was not physically
traveling during my S.l.P. I was keeping a journal while
working for the Travel Department of American Youth Hostels.
Therefore, indirectly, Wilde's quote embodies the personal style
that I have chosen for my S.I.P. and the professional work that I
was doing.
Long before any writing ever began, I fell into a reverie
about what the S.l.P. represented on a personal, educational and
practical level. These initial thoughts were rather scattered,
but the more I mused over them, the more quickly they assumed a
structured and logical form. The first part of the journal
contains my scattered and various thoughts.
