Troponin (Tn) is regulatory protein of myofibrills localized onactin filaments. Tn is composed from three subunits - TnT, TnCand TnI, each subunit exhibits specific biological role in musclefunction. During ontogenetic development of both cardiac and skeletalmuscles the synthesis of multiple isoforms of Tn was detected.Expression of Tn osoforms and their phosphorylation under patho-physiological situation (e.g. ischemia, congenital heart disease,heart failure) can affect the ATPase myofibrillar activity.
