The effect of a high bromide intake on the kinetics of iodine uptakeand elimination in the thyroid and skin of adult male rats wasstudied. The effect of a high bromide intake (100 mg Br/day) in theanimals kept under conditions of iodine deficiency (l ug I/day) wsasparticularly pronounced because the rates of iodine elimination weremost accelerated both from the thyroid and from the skin of these rats.
