The Šumava outbreak area of the beetle Ips typographus is located in the complex of the Šumava National Park and therefore difficult to manage with ordinary forest techniques. Investigations into natural control factors in the area brought information about a complex of pathogens and parasites which are participating in natural control of density of the populations of Ips typographus.
