The results of experimental investigations of wave like heat transfer events taking place in unstable transitional plumes are presented. An insight into the nature of two types of core transport processes evolving during the plume transition to turbulence - of the process governed by the plume "instability" controlled by global feedback in the plasma column and by the "absolute" instability of the flapping plume - is given.
