Radiopaque polymeric composites of medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and various amounts of bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) filler were prepared and tested. TPU and BiOCl, chosen for its unique properties (high radiopacity, non-toxicity, excellent chemical and physical stability and good dispersibility in the polymeric matrix), were mixed using co-rotating twin-screw micro compounder. Rheological properties of compounds were measured by the help of the rotational rheometer at selected temperature region. The interrelation between material compositions and resulting temperature-dependent rheological properties was studied. Results indicated significant influence of filler presence in polymeric matrix.

Byl připraven a testován termoplastický polyuretan s různým obsahem plniva (BiOCl). Ve vybraném rozmezí teplot byly měřeny reologické vlastnosti jednotlivých směsí. Byly zkoumány vztahy mezi materiálovým složením a výslednými teplotně závislými reologickými vlastnostmi. Byl ukázán nezanedbatelný vliv plniva na celkové chování směsi.
