The paper discusses the evolution of Wittgenstein's philosophical views on colors, and related question: in what sense can we express the laws or rules governing the use of color words as generally valid (hence, also whether one can speak about a singular "essence" in their case, or it is relative with respect to practice of particular languages).

Článek se zabývá vývojem Wittgensteinových filosofických názorů na barvy a související otázkou, v jakém smyslu lze formulovat zákonitosti, jimiž se používání slov pro barvy řídí, s obecnou platností (tedy také zda lze v jejich případě mluvit o jednotné "esenci", nebo zda je relativní vzhledem k praxi konkrétních jazyků).
