Present study describes the pattern of CaBP immunoreactivity in the rat perirhinal cortex as well as in the neocortical area Te3V. The PRC, and especially the area 35 possesses an unique interneuronal equipment with a high density of CR+ neurons, high overall CR immunoreactivity of neuropil and low PV immunoreactivity. The overall neuronal density significantly higher than in the neighboring neocortical Te3v area was found in the perirhinal cortex
