V roce 1979 bylo přistoupeno ke zpracovávání a vydávání souhrnnějších čtrnáctidenních informací o politické situaci a činnosti nižších orgánů KSČ i základních organizací komunistické strany určené členům a kandidátům předsednictva a členům sekretariátu ÚV KSČ. Vnitrostranické informace brzy získaly stabilní podobu, ke stálým bodům jejich obsahu patřily informace o politické situaci v krajích a náladách členů komunistické strany i ostatních obyvatel, o činnosti nižších stranických orgánů a o činnosti základních organizací strany, především o členských schůzích, o stavu plnění některých důležitých úkolů atd. Jejich počet výrazně stoupl v roce 1989, kdy jich bylo vydáno 55. Tento nárůst souvisel s dramatickými událostmi vrcholící krize komunistického režimu a jeho následného zhroucení. Tato faksimilová edice dokumentů přináší výběr z deseti vnitrostranických informací ÚV KSČ, které vznikly v průběhu posledního roku existence komunistického režimu a zabývají se opozičními a nonkonformními aktivitami v Československu, přičemž obsahují i výtahů z některých opozičních dokumentů či přímo jejich faksimile. Vnitrostranické informace přinášejí též zprávy o ohlasu opoziční činnosti a protiopozičních opatřeních politického vedení země v členské základně komunistické strany.

In 1979 was introduced information processing and producing of more comprehensive semi-monthly memos about political situation and activity of subordinate institutions of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and basic organisations of the communist party that were passed to members and candidates of the presidium and members of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. Intraparty information soon became stable in its form. Regular section was dedicated to information about political situation in regions and moods of the members of the party and other citizens, about activity of subordinate party institutions and about activity of the backbone organisations of the party, especially about members' meeting and degree of fulfilling some of the important objectives etc. Quantity of memos rapidly rose in 1989 to 55. This growth was a consequence of dramatic events of the culminating crisis of the communist regime and its collapse. This facsimile edition of documents consists of selection from ten chosen intraparty information papers of the Central Committee of the Communist Party that were composed during the last year of the communist regime. It is focused on opposition and noncomform activities in Czechoslovakia and it contains even summaries of some opposition documents or facsimile. This intraparty information brings details about reception of the opposition movement in the communist leadership of the country and the member base of the party.
