This study shows feasibility of using an artificial obturator as an alternative valve apparatus. Experiments were performed in the sheep with implantation intro tricuspid position. Acute hemodynamic measurements showed good function, while morphological examination showed rapid colonization by cells, vascularization, and complete occlusion of the implant cavity
