Článek přináší detailní informace o průběhu dvou mezinárodních vědeckých konferencí, které se konaly při příležitosti stého výročí vzniku první světové války v červnu 2014 v hlavních městech Srbska a Bosny a Hercegoviny. Konference v Bělehradu se se uskutečnila 13.–14. června 2014, konference v Sarajevu 18.–22. června 2014. Článek popisuje program obou vědeckých setkání, včetně vystoupení nejvýznamnějších zahraničních historiků a politologů, a zdůrazňuje, že zejména v Srbsku vzbuzuje problematika sarajevského atentátu z června 1914 a otázka odpovědnosti za vznik první světové války stále silné nacionální emoce. V textu jsou stručně charakterizovány i referáty, které na konferencích v Bělehradu a Sarajevu přednesli historici z České republiky.

This article provides detailed information about the course of two international science conferences, which took place on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the beginning of the First World War, in June 2014 in the capital cities of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference in Belgrade took place on the 13th and 14th June 2014, the conference in Sarajevo took place between 18th and 22nd June 2014. The article describes the programme of both scientific meetings, including appearances by the most important foreign historians and political scientists and emphasises that, particularly in Serbia, the issue of the Sarajevo assassination in June 1914 and the question of the responsibility for the start of the First World War, continues to be the basis for strong nationalistic emotions. The text briefly describes lectures, which were presented at the conferences in Belgrade and Sarajevo by historians from the Czech Republic.
