At the annual IAPWS meeting 2014 in Moscow a new Task Group (TG) at the TPWS working group was established. Main goal of new TG is to improve accuracy of the currently valid IAPWS standard for the surface tension of water from 1994 (http://www.iapws.org/). New correlation will have improved accuracy and will be extended to temperatures below the triple point of water. In the presentation at the Stockholm Meeting, activities of TG conducted from June 2014 till June 2015 were reported. New experimental data for the surface tension of supercooled water by Vinš et al. (J. Phys. Chem. B 119, 2015, 5567) were discussed. The data will be used in the extension of the IAPWS correlation. Preliminary data measured using new measuring technique with a horizontal capillary tube were also reported. The literature data for the surface tension at the reference temperatures of +20 °C and + 25°C were thoroughly reviewed and published by J. Kalová and R. Mareš (Int. J. Thermophys. 2015).
