EPR, TSL, radioluminescence (RL) and photoluminescence (PL) methods were engaged in investigation of ZnO nanorods. In the sample of the best purity grown from “fresh” starting materials, only the signal at 1.96 g factor was observed in EPR spectra as well as in the commercial one (shown in Fig. 1) whereas, the other two exhibit also some other resonances probably partly coming from residuals. All the samples were irradiated with X-rays, demonstrating change in the g = 1.96 signal intensity. This corresponds to the electron trapping processes in the materials at the same type oxygen vacancies as assumed above. Consequent stepwise (pulse) annealing up to 300 ºC removed the extra intensity of the resonances making evidence of the trapped electron deliberation. EPR intensity is directly proportional to the paramagnetic particles concentration.
