The Line3 transgenic reporter line was developed as a model to study transgene variegation. Here we show that this mouse line exhibits very bright GFP fluorescence in the earliest primitive blood cells of the developing embryo. Thus this line is also a powerful new model for the study developmental hematopoiesis and vasculogenesis.
