The first conference organized by the CVF – Photography Research Centre reflected on the position of photography in different contexts of scientific disciplines. It centred around the influence of photography on the development of both scientific knowledge and modern technologies, as well as on the impact of scientific research on photography, its history, understanding and interpretation. Divided into six panels the conference focused primarily on links between photography and technologies, explorations, art and science, systems and collections, anthropology, and philosophy. The conference was introduced by a public lecture on the first image of a black hole.
