[eng] The aim of the study is to investigate if there are any differences in the behaviour and in
the specific executive functions (working memory and semantic and phonetic fluency) in
children with and without diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorder with reading problems
(dyslexia). The sample consists of 33 participants with dyslexia and 33 controls from 6
to 14 years old. In the assessment, we used the verbal fluency subtest of NEPSY-II, digits
and drawing span subtests of WISC-V and the test of BASC for parents, tutors and
children. The results showed that the children with dyslexia tend to reveal more
internalizing and externalizing problems, but without locating themselves within the
clinical population range. In the executive functions, one could observe less efficiency in
aspects of verbal fluency in children with dyslexia, although the differences between
groups were only significant in the semantic area. Finally, there were no statistically
significant differences in the verbal and visual memory between the children with and
without dyslexia.
