[eng] The conception of vocational guidance has evolved over the years, being understood today as a
process that includes aptitude, motivational and personality aspects. The vocational interests of
high abilities’ students begin to wake up early, and a planned intervention from the early
educational stages is being necessary. Multipotentiality, social expectations and gender
differences are aspects to consider when addressing the vocational choice of this population. The
present study considers whether giftedness is related to a high and flat vocational profile, and if
there are correlations between aptitudes and interests. Likewise, in relation to gender, positive
relationships are proposed between the female gender and the social interest, and between the
male gender and the scientific-technical interest. The EXPLORE questionnaire, the Weschler
intelligence scale, the BADyG skills battery and the Torrance creativity test are used to achieve
the objectives. The analysis of the data reveals significant negative correlations between the
social interest and the logical and numerical skills; as well as significant differences in the
technical-manual interest between gender.
