A short biography is provided from Elly Koperberg (1897-1943) who studied and published her Ph.D. thesis on fossil marine molluscs from Timor. She became biology teacher in The Hague and
's Hertogenbosch. Because of her Jewish origin she went underground together with her sister Kittie during the second world war. Unfortunately, both were arrested and sent to the extermination camp Sobibor (Poland) where they were murdered on May 14, 1943. A list of all her 86 new malacological taxa, with some notes, is included - Language
