Difficulties in acquiring Russian sounds by Dutch students
The acquisition of phonetic skills in L2 is essential and to a large degree affects the whole learning process and production in L2. That is why a teacher of Russian as a foreign language must not only know peculiarities of his/her own phonetic system, but must also apprehend the phonology of the mother tongue of Russian L2 students. Since Russian and Dutch phonologies are quite different from each other, many difficulties occur when acquiring Russian sounds. Some of these problems are determined by language interference, some others are caused by the learning methods through printed sources and textbooks. - Language
