The objective of this work is to exploit the residue of the date palm leaflets of the Biskra region which is found in large quantities for the purpose of recovering it and using it as reinforcement in building materials and/or re-construction of house in the area. The characterization of the date palm leaflets (DPL) aims to better understand these components and better use it in its ideal position. The present study examined the physical and chemical properties obtained using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) . Three types of Deglet Noors from different regions (Mekhadma, Bouchagroune and Lichana) are used as study samples named DN1, DN2 and DN3, respectively. The results of the XRD analysis show that the crystalline levels are respectively DN1 (42.9%), DN2 (62.12%) and DN3 (62.83%). Note that the crystallite size results show that the change in region of collected DPL changed its size dimensions as follows: DN1 (2035.9 nm), DN2 (2026.6 nm) and DN3 (2035.9 nm), respectively. The FTIR test showed the presence of cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin in the three samples. The SEM images show that our samples are a mixture between fiber and particles with different diameters and lengths. Diameters are between 10 and 50 μmand lengths between 100 and 300 μm.
