Abstract:
The arrival of ORCID has accelerated the ongoing euroCRIS effort to enhance the CERIF datamodel for the purpose of collecting persistent identifiers. Aware of the use of many coexistent identifiers within the community --such as internal StaffID, DAI, ResearcherID, ScopusID and now ORCID for authors, plus FunderID or PIC for OrgUnits and DOIs for publications-- euroCRIS has chosen a federated identifier model based on the use of persistent UUIDs which will allow for a generic collection of all identifiers in the datamodel linking them to each other.
