The creation of scientific virtual experiments (VSEs) can transform e-learning materials more exciting, improving student performance and motivation. The aim of this paper is to present a scientific virtual experiment (VSE) on the pendulum created following a model that combines the Kolb’s approach and the Theory of Brosseau. This model defines the procedure for building a VSE learning activity by defining a set of phases which are mapped to specific learning/evaluation: Presentation, Practical Situation, Abstract Situation and Institutionalization. The realized VSE can be used as a learning object or in a customized course created with the platform of e-learning IWT, when, following the student preference, the learning object of type VSE is the more suitable to teach the underling concepts.

Abstract
The creation of scientific virtual experiments (VSEs) can transform e-learning materials more exciting, improving student performance and motivation. The aim of this paper is to present a scientific virtual experiment (VSE) on the pendulum created following a model that combines the Kolb’s approach and the Theory of Brosseau. This model defines the procedure for building a VSE learning activity by defining a set of phases which are mapped to specific learning/evaluation: Presentation, Practical Situation, Abstract Situation and Institutionalization. The realized VSE can be used as a learning object or in a customized course created with the platform of e-learning IWT, when, following the student preference, the learning object of type VSE is the more suitable to teach the underling concepts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
