This paper deals of main human lower limb synovial joints from a tribological point of view, for giving to the reader a description of their mechanical behavior and to introduce some relevant aspects related to the wear resistance of the joints. The researches were focused both on the theoretical description of the lubrication phenomena acting in the biobearings both to experimental investigations on the surface characteristic of artificial joints.
