This video focuses on organ preservation and transportation. The video defines what ischaemia is and how it plays a role in the organ transportation and preservation process. The video then explains how the organ preservation process fits into the procurement operation. The video also discusses the various strategies used to help maintain the organ during the procurement operation. The video then discusses the new techniques that are available for organ preservation. This is video 5/7 in week 3 of the Organ Donation course.
