In this work, the study of the reflective behavior of a light beam that falls between two mirrors willbe carried out one being smooth and the other periodically corrugated. The objective is to analyze the dynamic properties of the system and explore regular and chaotic behaviors of orbits, understand the influence of initial conditions and the control parameter, as well as the construction of a phase space composed of periodic islands and a large sea of chaos limited by invariant curves spanning, which will be obtained in two ways, analytically using a connection between the standard mapand the periodically corrugated waveguide model and computationally through extensive numerical simulations. Furthermore, Lyapunov exponents will be used to characterize the behavior of chaotic orbits. To describe the dynamics of the periodically corrugated waveguide model, will be used a discrete and non-linear two-dimensional mapping that relates the reflection angle θn and the reflection point xn, where n show the n-th reflection of the light beam in the lower plane. With this, it is possible to obtain the location of the invariant curves spanning using analytics resources, such as computational methods, verifying the influence of the control parameter δ in this work.
