Resumo

The aim of this work is to provide an insight into the lexicongramatical status of the para preposition from the Brazilian Portuguese language as if it were a parameter in order to achieve blueprints in a broader context, that is, the context from the prepositions. Our theoretical perspective aimed at the utterance (Theory of Enunciative and Predicative Operations) and the reference phenomenon.Within this semantical framework, a preposition has not an independent sense, that is why it's not possible to identify it, semantically, by means of a basic sense because this is the result of the preposition discursive insertion. By such hypothesis, illustrated by the analysis of one utterance, we will show that it is possible to set an unitary semantical definition to the para preposition based on an usage scheme, i. e., which is reflected on all its uses and doesn't separate lexicon and grammatical working principles.
