In this article the author analyzes the poem Fasciculus Myrrhae by Iosyp Turobois’kyi, which constitutes the preface to a collection of epigrams by the same author on the Passion of Jesus Christ, and is found in Turoboiskyi’s manual of poetics Hymettus extra Atticam. After a short overview of the interpretation of the expression Fasciculus myrrhae and of the Song of Songs, from which it is drawn, the author analyzes the poem that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his triumph over death. The author investigates in depth the rhetorical devices, lexical means and pagan mythology that Turobois’kyi employs in order to demonstrate the superiority of Christian virtues and values over pagan and worldly ones. The author publishes for the first time the poem Fasciculus Myrrhae in Latin and in Ukrainian translation.
