Augmented reality applied to tourism: the project "Augmented Reality in Savona" Through the use of augmented reality apps is it now establishing a new relationship between man and land and, if so, in what this new interrelationship differs from the traditional ones? A case study on augmented reality in Savona offers an opportunity to examine the functions of these applications, accessible from mobile devices, as an amplifier tool for the tourism sector and as a support for an innovative way to use the cultural, touristic and logistic contents of the city . It is interesting to reflect on the effective integration of these applications with other geo-referenced and communication strategies that the city offers to the tourist; if there is complementarity between the augmented reality applications and the communication and information on the net, and on which types of tourists may be involved.
