We present the design of a system that assists consumers in planning, reviewing, monitoring and rescheduling their mobility. Specifically, we address long distance mobility of a frequent traveller. The main novelty is that the system contains an engine that reschedules the consumer’s mobility against unanticipated changes. Implementation is on an Android front-end that interacts with transaction processing systems via web services. Potential benefits of this approach look relevant for the customers and for the transportation companies as well. Our system concept is a complementary approach to traffic management systems that support authorities and transportation providers but not the consumer.

Abstract
We present the design of a system that assists consumers in planning, reviewing, monitoring and rescheduling their mobility. Specifically, we address long distance mobility of a frequent traveller. The main novelty is that the system contains an engine that reschedules the consumer’s mobility against unanticipated changes. Implementation is on an Android front-end that interacts with transaction processing systems via web services. Potential benefits of this approach look relevant for the customers and for the transportation companies as well. Our system concept is a complementary approach to traffic management systems that support authorities and transportation providers but not the consumer.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
