An integrated trajectory generation and tracking system suitable for application to landing task of a small rotorcraft over small ships is presented. The auto-recovery system consists of three modules, that is, an off-line trajectory generator, a guidance algorithm and an inverse simulation algorithm for on-line command calculation. The algorithm performance is evaluated by simulation of a helicopter model approaching the landing pad of a moving ship. © 2001 by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. Abstract
