Salt spray tests were conducted on the Mg-Y-Nd-Zr WE43-T6 alloy castings to determine the effects of corrosion attack on its tensile strength at room temperature. To validate the results, specimens from A356-T6 castings were also tested. The experimental results proved the superiority of A356 castings as compared to WE43 alloys, in terms of mass loss, strength reduction and materials corrosion degradation.

Abstract
Salt spray tests were conducted on the Mg-Y-Nd-Zr WE43-T6 alloy castings to determine the effects of corrosion attack on its tensile strength at room temperature. To validate the results, specimens from A356-T6 castings were also tested. The experimental results proved the superiority of A356 castings as compared to WE43 alloys, in terms of mass loss, strength reduction and materials corrosion degradation.File allegati a questo prodotto
