For slightly more than a year, Italian towns have been obliged by law to reduce noise pollution due to road traffic. Local councils must therefore ascertain the most problematic areas and take action for their mitigation. Noise isolation walls, built with man-made and life plant materials, can act as passive filter to noise, but must be designed following specific rules, regarding both the choice of materials and their arrangement. In these pages, the experience of the Town of Legnago, near Verona.
