Abstract

The paper deals with a finite element analysis-based optimised design of a double-cage induction motor. By driving the optimisation procedure by a fuzzy artificial experience algorithm, a dramatic reduction of the iterations is obtained. This makes the sophisticated but time consuming finite element analysis technique practicable, with advantages in terms of accuracy and promptness of the motor design.
