Participated projects and processes: new experimental methodologies and applications

The paper deals with the transmission of participatory practice as an essential instrument for listening and awareness of citizens about the main themes of sustainability and of urban, socioeconomic, environmental renovation. Here lies the work of Tipus Lab., in Roma Tre University, with some researches about the definition and the experimentation of new participated procedures, in collaboration with the Municipality. The various experiences developed in very different contest, can be attributed to a procedure based on three main phases: diagnosis, vision, project. According to the practical situations, these three phases can be developed with different tools and methods, based on interactive and incremental steps, like as: Strategic Choice, Visioning, A Pattern Language, Planning for Real, etc... often integrated and customized. The paper will illustrate more deeply this innovative procedure through the description of real examples developed in participated processes in Rome.
