"Disegni di Vari Altari e Cappelle" is a book of prints of modern architecture published by Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi in 1688 or 1689 and addressed to the interiors of Roman churches (only one is in Florence) of the sixteenth and especially seventeenth century. This study focuses on the production of the book, thus in particular on the seven preparatory drawings for its plates that are preserved in Florence in the Uffizi collection. The author also discusses the evident role of Ciro Ferri in designing the structure of the book, also in light of the fact that Ferri had directed, between 1673 and 1686, the Accademia Medicea founded in Rome by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III.
