Abstract

The purpose of this application is to remove the homonymy between two family-group names in Coleoptera and Plecoptera. It is proposed that the complete name of the stone-fly genus Brachyptera Newport, 1848 be adopted as the stem, giving the corresponding familiy-group name BRACHYPTERAINAE Zwick, 1973. The beetle name BRACHYPTERINAE Erichson, 1845 would remain unchanged.
