This thesis seeks to explore the overall management of gestational diabetes mellitus.
The first aim is to investigate biomarkers and risk stratification. Which potential biomarkers can be used in the prediction of GDM? Is ghrelin a useful biomarker?
The second aim is to evaluate current management of GDM. Is the current national screening and treatment guideline effective in reducing GDM related complications? What is the role of blinded continuous glucose monitoring in treatment monitoring?
The third aim is to study the adherence to long-term diabetes screening recommendations in women with GDM.
