Poster and program for the 2006 Lewis Henry Morgan Lecture titled: "Hearing God: Making God Real in Evangelical Christianity" given by Tanya M. Luhrmann, Max Palevsky Professor in the Committee on Human Development at the University of Chicago; presented October 11, 2006.
Professor Luhrmann will explore the way people learn to develop an intimate relationship with God in evangelical Christianity. On Wednesday evening she will discuss the cultural dimensions of the way people learn to pay attention to their experience so as to hear God speak. On Thursday afternoon, she will discuss the psychological dimensions and bodily constraints of spiritual experience.
