Estudos comparativos sobre o envelhecimento nos contextos chinês e português

Abstract

A população é uma variável fundamental do desenvolvimento da sociedade humana e, graças a um conjunto diverso de fatores, a esperança média de vida aumentou exponencialmente, no último século, conduzindo a um fenómeno de envelhecimento das sociedades desenvolvidas. Lidar com o contínuo aumento da população idosa tornou-se, no entanto, um problema global e um dos principais desafios demográficos do século XXI. Nos contextos chinês e português, o envelhecimento demográfico mudou nos últimos anos, devido à transformação política, ao desenvolvimento económico e ao avanço social, trazendo uma série de desafios nas formas de manutenção das pessoas idosas. Através da comparação do processo de envelhecimento demográfico e da análise das circunstâncias de vida dos idosos na China e Portugal, abordaremos, no presente trabalho, os fatores na base dessas mudanças, do ponto de vista político, económico, social e cultural.

人口问题是人类社会得以存在和发展的根本性问题。在二十世纪，社会的发展近 一步延长了人类的寿命，使得老龄人口数量不断增加。日益严峻的人口老龄化现 象已经成为了全球性问题，人类社会必将在二十一世纪面临更为重大的人口挑战。 近些年来，受政治变革、经济发展、社会进步等原因的影响，中葡两国的人口老 龄化情况发生了一定变化，并形成了各自的特点，给两国现今的养老模式带来了 一系列的挑战。 本文以人口老龄现象化为切入点，对中葡两国人口老龄化及其老年人生活的现状 进行分析，从而展现两国在政治、经济、社会、文化等方面的风貌。

Population is the essential problem that influences the existence and development of human society and, thanks to multiple factors, the life hope increased dramatically in the last century. Aging population keeps increasing as society develops, so how to deal with this problem becomes a global issue and one of the 21st century’s major challenges. The aging process has changed both in Portugal and China, in recent years, due to the influence of political innovation, economic development and social progress, forming features of their own and bringing with it challenges for those countries’ supporting model for the elderly. Comparing the demographic aging process and analyzing the current situation of the elder population, both in China and Portugal, the present paper uses the phenomenon of aging population as an entry point, and unfold the unique political, economic, social and cultural features of the two countries.
